Have you considered beta reading?
What if I told you that you can read the next bestseller and offer your feedback on it before it ever hits the shelf?
Our beta reading program gives avid readers an amazing opportunity to do exactly that.
What is a beta reader?
Every author’s goal is to create a story their readers will enjoy. The best way to ensure their creation is ready for the world is to get an objective view from real readers. This is where beta readers come in.
As objective readers, they can provide essential feedback about what they liked or disliked about the story. They point out any glaring discrepancies, dead zones or spots of confusion.
Do you absorb what you read?
Just about anyone can spot typos and grammatical errors, but beta readers will recognize plot holes, character inconsistencies, and redundant scenes.
Reporting these issues back to the author will help them make vital changes to improve their story for publication.
Some key questions you may be asked
- What genre would classify this under?
- At any point in the story did you find yourself confused?
- Would you say the characters are relatable?
- Did the story hold your interest?
- Do you feel the story is missing anything?
- Did a specific character stand out to you? Either like or dislike.
- Was the ending what you expected?
